Which LAPTOP system is better (see details)?
Which is a better system, and why? I only listed the items that were DIFFERENT (for example, I didnt list the 120 GB hard drive, which were the same for each system). - definatly the Aurora m9700 because of the AMD cpu and the SLI gpus the AMD 2.2ghz is probably the speed of a Intel 3ghz the Intel Core Duo Processor 2.33ghz is sssllllooooowwwww
- don't listen to this computer illiterate Eng above. a Core Duo T2700 is a bammer. you cannot compare the clock frequencies of a Core Duo with a Pentium 4, the T2700 is faster than a 3.6GHz P4 and in several benchmark tests it will even beat the XE965. and btw, the Yonah Core of the T2x00 Core Duo series is the basis of the recently released and brandnew desktop and notebook processors Core 2 Duo (code named Conroe & Merom). these 2 brand new processors will blow away all AMD CPUs, including the FX-62 (already proved in some benchmark tests).
- sorry, u'r stuck at processor level ! the selection starts with 1. processor 2. ram 3. video ram not reverse !!! A. what good is the 64 bit turin, u may need 64 bit , maybe sometime in 2008, sure not earlier B. u are comparing a dual core processor (T2700) v/s a single core -- NOT FAIR C. intel has clock speed 2.33 ghz , turin has even lower - 2.2 ghz D. intel has 2 mb cache & turin only 1 mb E. intel has 667 mhz fsb v/s turin's 800 mhz turin scores only in E (u havent mentioned ram at all, so what good is it anyway, besides, it gets choked at 1 mb cache) [ i recall celeron m has 1 mb cache, lol ] intel scores B, C & D C is not very important, mean clock speed but D - l2 cache is a BIG BIG difference as also the power of dual processing i personally wouldn't touch the aurora given a choice area v/s aurora
- While I do like both and think that both are more than powerful enough to run most modern games, there is a few things that I will mention. 1. Many games are not multi-core aware, and may crash on dual-core/dual-processor systems. (This does not mean that the SLI won't work with games, only that some games will not work with a dual-core processor. Processor and Video Cards with SLI are two different things.) 2. SLI will most likely run games better/faster. 3. Battery performance, as in how long the laptop will run on battery power before needing to be plugged in is mainly determined by what the laptop needs to run. I don't know if the SLI knows how to turn off one of the video cards while on battery, but that would be preferable to make the battery last longer. In general the Core Duo should last longer on battery, but the AMD probably will run games better. Of course your mileage may vary. Either system is a very good choice, but make sure that you get at least 1GB of Ram as many modern games don't like running on much less.
