Can someone please explain the difference between processors?
Ok, I'm not stupid, but I get lost when it comes to computer processors. I wish to know what the difference is between (specifically) AMD 64 and AMD 64FX processors. I'd also appreciate any comparisons between AMD and Intel processors... I'm LOST looking for a computer, some dual cores are so cheap now, I don't know if I'm going to kick myself for buying one.

- Well im not sure about the AMD 64 and AMD 64Fx processor but i can tell you about processors. Intel and Amd are both companies that make processors. Intel has been around for many decades and is a very trusted company. AMD is sort of new but also a good company. Intel are very expansive compared to amd and also amd has faster/cheaper processors. A dual-core processor has 2 built in processors made for multi-tasking. So in other words faster. But watch out. Intel Pentium Dual core doesn't really have 2 cores, but acts as it does. (Also known as hyper-threading). You should only get core 2 duos. For amd just look for 64x2 processors.
