Apple vs. PC - Intel processor speed?
Right now I am using a Sony VAIO desktop with a 3.4 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor. I'm considering buying a macbook for the upcoming school year. The macbooks have a 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Speedwise, what is the comparison between the two processors? Thanks :) Christina

- That macbook processor is about 25%-35% faster than that P4 except for tasks such as media-encoding.
- Core 2 duo is the generation next technology & is much faster, as it has 2 processors to do the processing job, as compared to P4. Sure the macbook would be more faster & responsive than sony vaio.
