Upgrading Intel Processor?

I currently have a Intel Celeron D 352(3.2GHz) installed and would like to upgrade. My motherboard supports the following processors: Pentium D 900 series Dual Core (Presler) Pentium D 800 series Dual Core (Smithfield) Pentium 4 500 (Prescott) Pentium 4 600 (Prescott) Celeron D (Prescott) Celeron D (Cedar Mill) I dont know the comparison of these processors and which would be better than the other. Here is my computer specs: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883107389 and my motherboard specs- http://www.ascendtech.us/itemdesc.asp?ic=MB4ECS410M Thank You for any Info/Help!

  1. Pentium 4 500 or 600. whichever is faster. Pentium 4 have more on die memory than the others. and with a single core that matters a lot.
  2. i think u buy INTEL DG31PR there is some more information about this motherboard http://www.intel.com/Products/Desktop/Motherboards/DG31PR/DG31PR-overview.htm buy dual core or core 2 duo but do not but celeron so good luck
  3. well i dont know what MIKE's talking about but pentium D (D for dual) will be almost twice as fast as either of the Pentium 4 (single core). if you have the option i'd say get a new mobo, heatsink/fan and get a c2d (core 2 duo) they're VERY fast and run quite cool. **i do not recommend this option to anyone that is not technical or cannot learn well.**
